SANAA: Rival Yemeni forces clashed in the capital Sanaa on Wednesday,killing two people. Three people were killed in violence elsewhere in Yemen,including two shot dead in the southern city of Aden when security forces tried to break up a march demanding an end to President Ali Abdullah Salehs rule,witnesses said. Gulf Arab foreign ministers have said they will invite Saleh and his opponents to mediation talks.

Syrian women block main highway

BEIRUT: Thousands of Syrian women and children holding white flags and olive branches blocked a main coastal highway on Wednesday,demanding authorities release detainees picked up during a crackdown on opponents of President Bashar Assads authoritarian regime,witnesses said. They were gathering along the coastal road between cities of Tartous and Banias.
