This refers to ‘3 years later, cellphones start talking: who called whom when Gujarat was burning’ (IE, November 21). This is what the media should be doing to prevent genocides from resting in peace in the history books. Hope this investigation puts pressure on the corrupt politicians and cops who are hiding behind masks.

Thank you for baring the truth. But frankly, this has no meaning. We know we will not get justice in Gujarat.

I think you are either indulging in character assassination or are not revealing the whole truth (‘BJP’s Naroda MLA says she wasn’t at riot site, cellphone records say she was there’, IE, November 22). I have read the detailed account of the Naroda MLA and I do not find anything incriminating. The claim is that since this MLA of BJP talks to other BJP and VHP office bearers, she must be killing Muslims. I, for one, find the claim preposterous.

I am greatly impressed by this newspaper, especially for its investigation of the petrol pump scam and now for analysing the cell phone calls during the Gujarat riots. This has made me switch from other newspapers to the Express. I am sure there will be others like me.

New turn

The feud between the Ambani brothers is depressing given the reputation Dhirubhai Ambani established in the business fraternity. Such behavior is hardly to be expected from those who head one of the most respected corporations in India. Reliance is one of those companies in the market which determines its direction.

Inflexible Singh?

Manmohan Singh’s J&K visit has made a great impact because of his emotional appeal and promise of economic aid. But this was what everyone had been doing in the past — trying to solve a political problem in an economic way. His political statements such as not involving Kashmiris in Indo-Pak talks and not re-drawing borders leave little scope for negotiations. It boils down to the stand that there cannot be any solution except Pakistan vacating POK. Vajpayee was more flexible in his stand of having talks with Pakistan without preconditions and with Kashmiris without insisting that talks with them should be in the Constitution’s ambit.

He didn’t go

Rajeev PI’s ‘Commotion in Kanchi’ (IE, November 21) says ‘‘He’s travelled abroad — famously to China…’ He didn’t. Bad job.
