SHIMLA, July 30: Himachal Pradesh Government today announced that it would review the previous Congress government’s controversial decisionon on Wild Flower Hall tourism project. The project, which envisages construction of a five star hotel near Mashobra, is being executed as a joint venture with East India Hotels – a subsidiary of the Oberoi group of hotels.

Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal told the state Assembly during question hour that the deal signed with the Oberoi group by the previous Congress regime, was a “losing proposition” and the government would review it thoroughly for an appropriate decision.

The Chief Minister also shared the concern of some BJP MLAs that the government would not gain much out of the deal while property worth crores had been handed over to the company for a song.

Still, the promoters of a private company had sent him a message asking either to reduce the government’s equity of 35 per cent or provide more money for implementation of the joint venture project, Dhumal informed the House.
