ST. JOHN’S, ANTIGUA, March 22: The West Indies took complete control of the final Test against England today, the third morning of the contest.
The home side moved from their overnight 126 for zero to 236 for one in reply to England’s paltry 127 and had already closed out any chance of a comeback by Mike Atherton’s side.
Philo Wallace, who fell to Dean Headley’s persistence for 92, was England’s only victim of the session and the West Indies are in position to add hugely to their lead of 109 through out the remainder of the day. Wallace played into his stumps after an aggressive 135-ball innings, which dominated an opening stand of 167 with Lambert.
