An ex-RSS pracharak, Paresh Nayak, who was arrested on Saturday on charges of abetting the abduction of a girl from Kendrapara district, is in even deeper trouble, with the victim alleging that she was raped by his associate.

The girl, who was medically examined along with the main accused Rajesh Nayak, an associate of the former RSS man, was found to be pregnant. In her statement under Section 164 of the Criminal Procedure Code before a magistrate in Kendrapara on Monday, the victim alleged that she was sexually assaulted by Rajesh several times and then forced to be his wife.

The victim also alleged that Rajesh forced her to perform sexual favours for the former RSS pracharak for a job although she did not say whether she was sexually abused by Paresh.

However, in her statement she seems to have stirred a hornet’s nest by saying that the former RSS man abused several girls in his NGO Sukriti on the false promise of giving them jobs. “When Rajesh sent me to the NGO, I spoke to several women who were abused by Paresh Nayak,” she said.

With the latest revelations, the police in Patkura have slapped Section 376 against Rajesh Nayak. “Paresh will be interrogated further as he has indirectly abetted the assault of the victim,” said Jaydev Sarangi, Kendrapara sub-divisional police officer. Meanwhile, BJP leaders maintained their distance from the former RSS pracharak, saying that he has been suspended from the party since 2004 over anti-party activities. “His suspension is yet to be revoked,” said a BJP leader.
