PUNE, Aug 10: Wolf Mountain, contesting in the colours of enterprising owner D Khaitan, put up a grand show on his debut and smartly claimed the Khelan Stud Colts Stakes, the sponsored and the feature event of the Sixth Day of Pune Meeting conducted here on Sunday.

However, it took considerable time for hoisting the white corner as two objections were lodged in the main event. The rider of Great Secret complained against the winner for bumping and crossing at 800 and 400 metres respectively. The other objection was from the jockey of High Voltage, who finished third, against Great Secret for badly hampering the passage of his mount, who was forced to dash against the rails.

It appeared that both the first and second placed runners would be disqualified but authorities preferred to over-rule the objections and not to alter the verdict pronounced by the Judge.

Cape Dance trounced both the rivals in The Commoner Trophy, the supporting event. Trainer Nirad Karanjawala and jockey P Shroff ended the day with a double each.
