NEW DELHI, February 16: Doctors say that the woman who reportedly killed her three children in Dilshad Garden yesterday and then tried to kill herself is now out of danger. Apparently, the woman — Maya Mann (40) climbed onto the water tank of the DDA flats and then jumped down.

Neighbours rushed to the spot and the police were soon called in. When they arrived, they tried to enter her flat but found it locked from inside. The police then broke in and found the bodies of her three children — Manisha (9), Neha (6) and Mohit (11) — on the floor. The bodies of the children have been sent for post-mortem.

Reportedly, Maya gave conflicting statements after she regained consciousness. Once, she said that she slipped from the terrace, while drying clothes. Afterwards, she also confessed to the crime and said that her hand had been forced by her husband’s negligence — of her and her children.
