FORT WORTH, TEXAS, May 24: Brad Faxon, David Frost and Paul Goydos shared the second-round lead and tied the 36-hole tournament record with 15-under at the Mastercard Colonial yesterday, but the most noise was made by Tiger Woods.
The 21-year-old Masters champ fired a five-under-par 30 on the back nine en route to a second-day 65 and a 132 total to pull within three shots of the leaders going into the weekend rounds.
It appeared Woods might be out of the picture as he came to the 10th tee trailing the leaders by eight shots. But just as he has done so many times in his young career, Woods put on a spirited back-nine rally.
