AHMEDNAGAR, Jan 3: The registrars of 23 district forums for consumer redressal have left for Ranchi, Bihar, to undergo a four-month-long training programme, thereby adversely affecting the functioning of these consumer courts.
The president and registrar are the most important posts in the consumer court. The registrar is entrusted with the task of continuing the day-to-day activities of the court, and is also authorised to receive the cash collected as per the orders of the forum’s president, issue notices and register affidavits.
Recently, the State Selection Board conducted an examination for the post of assistant controllers in the departments of valid measures. However, all these selected persons were later appointed as registrars at various consumer courts in the district. After joining their duties, these individuals complained to the Maharashtra Administrative Tribunal against their wrong postings. Hearings are going on.
