The Trinamool Congress on Sunday said it would consider Tata Motors’ offer for talks only if the company sent the request in writing. Tata Motors’ managing director Ravi Kant said on Sunday he is ready for dialogues with Mamata Banerjee, and that he has already sent feelers to the Trinamool Congress leader. Banerjee has been on a hunger strike for the last seven days protesting against the government’s decision to acquire farmland in Singur for the company’s proposed small car manufacturing unit. ‘‘We don’t want any feelers,” Trinamool MLA Saugata Roy said. “CM Buddhadadeb Bhattacharjee wanted to talk us and he wrote to us for that; we also wrote back to him. If the Tatas are keen on talking, they should send the request in writing. They should not send such feelers through the media.’’ Banerjee, however, refused to comment.
