Doing their bit
Twenty-three members of Rotaract Club of Pune Central visited the Vanchit Vikas Nihar in Lohegaon on October 18 as part of their community service project. Nihar is an orphanage for the children of prostitutes. This project aims to help these children become capable of earning their daily bread once they leave the institution. The Rotaractors distributed sweets, clothes, buckets, mugs to the children and spent some quality time with them. Along with the instructor, Sunita Joglekar, the Neehar staff members and the kids, they had a gala time.

Votes do count!
The young voter is out and voting extensively… and much more than last year. We are talking about the Coca Cola Viewers’ Choice Awards Category, a part of the CHannel [V] 1998 Music Awards. The votes collected so far from all over India from September 9, 1998 has crossed more than the 1.5 million mark, the last date still being November 15. In Pune itself they managed to collect around 1,30,000 votes. The awards will be held at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, New Delhi, on November 21, wherein international stars like Sting, Def Leppard, Aqua and 911 will perform live.
