Jay Panda asked a supplementary to the Sports Minister on whether the Government would come to the aid of Sundergarh district in Orissa that produces most of India’s hockey players. He had four unstarred questions – on noise pollution, e-waste, Special Category States Status for Orissa and the four-laning of NH 24 in Orissa.
Supriya sule had a starred question on spectrum allocation and followed it up with two supplementaries that sought to know if the Defence Ministry would charge a levy against holding on to extra spectrum. She had two unstarred questions on increasing road accidents in the country and the Government’s plan for development of Mumbai.Kanimozhi sat through the first half and was seen chatting with Sule. She had an unstarred question on reforming civil service examinations. She is expected to participate in the discussion on the Budget.
Rajeev Chandrasekhar had a starred question on enhancing drinking water supplies in 10 select cities and through supplementaries, sought to know, whether it could prevent waterborne diseases, 11th plan targets for drinking water facility and water pricing policy. He also had two unstarred questions on expanding housing for urban poor and NGOs engaged in improving sports facilities in Karnataka.

Rahul Gandhi was the star among the young turks on Thursday, with his brief and effective speech on the Budget. His mother Sonia Gandhi thumped the desk and encouraged him while Congress members later queued up to congratulate the MP.
Milind Deora was missing when a question was listed in his name on minority scholarships. SACHIN PILOT asked a supplementary on the same question. Deora had unstarred questions on the possibility of leasing aircraft to meet demand, provisions for disabled during flying, modenisation of New Delhi railway station and the methodology for calculating foreign exchange. Deora and Priya Dutt were late seen in the corridor chatting up with Subbiramy Reddy and appreciating the pen that he was carrying.
Priya Dutt had a question on allocation to NGOs under various schemes.
DUSHYANT SINGH was not seen, but had questions on cooperation with Russia in oil and gas sector and 11th Plan targets for expanding milk processing facilities.
Naveen Jindal had questions on pilots refusing to fly citing duty hour regulations, Indo-Africa Hydrocarbon Conference and pilot training facility in the country.
KULDEEP BISHNOI was not seen, but had questions on digitising stone inscriptions, Delhi-Gurgaon EMU trains and possibility of expanding use of LPG as vehicle fuel.
JYOTIRADITYA SCINDIA had questions on schemes to provide jobs for disabled, maintenance of the elderly, Indo-Iran gas pipeline and reducing the impact of international crude prices.
SHAMIK LAHIRI, JITIN PRASADA, SANDEEP DIKSHIT and DEEPENDER HOODA were present in House while MEHBOOBA MUFTI, SUKHBIR BADAL, OMAR ABDULLAH, MANVENDRA SINGH and AKHILESH YADAV were not seen.
SACHIN PILOT, SANDEEP DIKSHIT and JITIN PRASADA were part of a panel at the Congress headquarters which interviewed aspirants for Youth Congress positions in Delhi.
