July 3: A 17-year-old youth was arrested on charges of raping a 14-year-old in a common toilet at Ghatkopar on Saturday night.
According to police inspector (crime) B Jadhav, the girl was raped when she went to a nearby toilet to answer nature’s call around 11.45 pm on June 28. The accused Badshah alias Jammal Ahmed then fled the scene.

The girl narrated the incident to her parents and a complaint was lodged with the police. The victim was later treated at Rajawadi Hospital, Ghatkopar. Ahmed was picked up on June 29 from a garage along CST Road, Kurla, where he took refuge after committing the crime. Sub-inspectors K Kukre and G Choudhury are the other officers investigating the case.
