PUNE, March 25: Four men travelling in an autorickshaw attacked and robbed Mahesh Bhattad, a 21-year-old resident of Kothrud, on Karve Road on Tuesday night.

Mahesh was riding a motorcycle near Ambar Hall on Karve Road when he noticed the four youths quarrelling with his friend Rohit Sava. He was attacked when he tried to rescue Sava. The unidentified men relieved Mahesh of his gold chain and a cellular phone before escaping in the autorickshaw.

Later, Mahesh and Rohit went to the nearby Kothrud police station and lodged a first information report. The FIR estimated the worth of stolen booty around Rs 20,000.

Pimps held: Three pimps, who allegedly abducted underaged girls from Nepal and induced them to prostitution, were yesterday arrested by Faraskhana police.
