Yuvraj Singh’s six sixes in a row in the Twenty20 World Cup tie against England has won him an admirer in Army General JJ Singh, who lauded the youngster for his grit and belligerence.

Singh, also the President of the Indian Golf Union, was talking to reporters after announcing this year’s Indian Open golf tournament when his attention was drawn towards Yuvraj’s knock.

“I think he showed a fighting spirit, which was remarkable. You should have a philosophy when you are fighting. Whether it’s battlefield or any sports arena, you go with a determination to win and Yuvraj had that last night. It was exemplary display of great determination and concentration,” he added.

Yuvraj hit England pacer Stuart Broad for six sixes in the penutlimate over of the Indian innings to become the first cricketer in Twenty20 to achieve the feat.

Hero Honda MD and CEO Pawan Munjal also hailed the cricketer for his achievement.

“It’s a rare achievement and I don’t see it happening anytime soon,” he said. Incidentally, Yuvraj is the brand ambassador of Hero Honda.
