DUNEDIN, February 9: Zimbabwe made a better start to their second innings against New Zealand A at Dunedin today but still looked unlikely to save the the match after the second of four day match.

Zimbabwe were looking for 204 runs to stay in the match and by the close their target was down to 124 after they scored 80 for two. Though their two wickets fell quite early, Murray Goodwin put together a recovery of sorts and had raked up 50 not out at stumps.

Earlier in the session medium pace bowler Mpumeleo Mbangwa had led a Zimbabwean attack and finished with four for 49.
