Controversial Bhonsala Adventure Foundation closed down Express News Service Nashik Dec 12: The Bhonsala Adventure Foundation (BAF),which was at the centre of a controversy over the alleged molestation of college girls, has been closed down by its parent body, the Central Hindu Military Education Society (CHMES). The CHMES in its executive committee meeting held recently, decided to closed down the institution, against which local womens’ organisation had launched a campaign. The closing down of the BAF has, however, invited the wrath of some people connected with the CHMES who have formed a "Bhonsala Bachao Samiti" accusing the institution of being prejudiced against Anand Munje, a director of the BAF who had been accused of molesting girls. In a statement issued by the samiti it has been pointed out that the BAF established in 1994 had trained 1,300 boys and 500 girls in adventure sports and organised about 60 expeditions. The samiti has accused the CHMES of being biased against Munje. It may be recalledthat about two years ago, about 40 students of the BAF had filed written complaints, accusing Munje of molesting them while participating in mountaineering expeditions. The incident had prompted the CHMES to form two inquiry panels but no action was taken against Munje as the investigators had given a clean chit to Munje.
