N.V. Unnithan (Mumbai)

This refers to ‘Double role’ (IE, January 3). With the Arvind Kejriwal-led minority government winning the trust vote in the Delhi assembly, the stage is now set for the Aam Aadmi Party to prove its ability to govern. The AAP government has fulfilled two of its poll promises — 20 kl per month per household of free water and cheaper electricity. Curiously, the economics behind these freebies remains unexplained. The new government must come out with a specific, workable agenda for a corruption-free administration. The Congress

has pledged support to the AAP government — it must respect the mandate given by the electorate to the AAP and allow the government to last a full term and do its work. The prospects of the AAP in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections will be significantly determined by its delivery of clean and good governance.
