Opinion And,finally a Facebook app
Facebook announced its app for the iPad which is easy to use and very spontaneous.
Facebook has been all pervasive, with the exception of the iPad. While many others, like FlipBoard and FLUD,brought the Facebook in a neat package to the tablet,Facebook itself did not have an app to keep its million of members engaged.
On Tuesday,Facebook fnally announced its app for the iPad. Though initially users were unable to find the app on the App Store, there have been thousands of downloads since.
At first look, the app is very easy to use and the navigation very spontaneous. You can scroll through the newsfeeds with your fingertips, swipe through albums and pinch to zoom in on pictures. Photos are spread on the full-screen and the swipe gives it a slideshow dimension.
The apps is compatible with Facebook games and chat. You can also watch high-res videos online, record HD video and stream to Airplay devices.
But I just feel Facebook lost the initiative a bit. Those who already have other apps to access Facebook might be a bit reluctant to switch over now.
