AAP national executive member Prem Singh Pahari, who has applied for a party ticket from Phulpur Lok Sabha seat, Saturday appeared for an interview in Lucknow. Also among those who appeared for the interview was an NRI who is the owner of oil wells in Kenya and Venezuela, with a majority stake in a foreign airline. “The applicant had assets running in thousands of crores,” said an AAP worker who interviewed him, adding that he also owned two private airplanes. “He cited unsuitable business environment in India as the reason for leaving India around 1991,” an AAP worker said, adding that he was seeking a ticket from Chandauli. Party sources said the applicant wished to remain anonymous. One Krishan Murari Lal Srivastava, 61, who claimed that he is the grandson of a cousin of India’s first President Dr Rajendra Prasad, also turned up for the interview, seeking a ticket from UP’s Maharajganj. Former Director, Ministry of Defence, group captain T P Srivastava (retd) also appeared for an interview seeking a ticket from Fatehpur, while one former IG (CRPF) also sought a ticket. Nearly 200 applicants appeared for the AAP interview on Saturday. In the 2 minute, 51 second video, an AAP worker can be heard saying, “You register an FIR and if it is wrong, register a case against us.” NCP workers ‘ransack’ AAP office in Mumbai, 25 detained MUMBAI: The Andheri police Saturday detained 25 NCP workers for allegedly burning posters and effigies of Arvind Kejrival at the AAP office in Chakala, Andheri (East). The police also detained more than 40 AAP members in preventive action as they were about to march to the NCP office in Juhu Galli to protest. Officers from Andheri police station said NCP workers went to the office on Saturday and barged inside. “The NCP’s move seems to be a reaction to our expose of the power scam in the state,” said Radhika Nair of the AAP.
