Corruption issues of all the six governments in Jharkhand since its inception on November 15,2000 will come under the scanner if voted to power to make the state a clean and developed one,the Congress said today.

“No corruption issue will be spared,” AICC national spokesman Mohan Prakash told a press conference here.

“All means all,” he replied when asked if the scanner would also apply for the erstwhile Babulal Marandi government.

Marandi, who led the NDA government when Jharkhand was created, heads the JVM-P which is

an ally of the Congress in the ongoing state assembly poll.

Asked to comment on Madhu Koda government’s performance during its 23 months regime supported by the UPA allies,he said “It’s head is now in jail. After Koda now you should speak about Arjun Munda (another ex-CM of BJP).” All the former governments in the state had laid the ‘foundation of corruption’ that prevented the evolving of a good work culture.

“It (corruption) even affected the administrators,” he Added.

Prakash said if Congress is voted to power, persons engaged in corruption in mineral-rich Jharkhand will be brought to book.

The party,he said, would give priority to health, education, employment, agriculture and tribal welfare and asked the electorate to give a chance to Congress and ‘see the difference’.

“If the Congress is voted to power at the end of its five-year term Jharkhand would be in league with the developed states,” he asserted.

Accusing BJP of destructive and divisive politics,Prakash claimed that the constructive path adopted by Congress had put the country on the fast-track of development since 2004.

On price rise,Prakash said poor monsoon and hoarders were responsible.

“Scanty rains affected agriculture. The state governments should come down heavily on the hoarders to check prices,” he said.

On who would be the Chief Minister in the event of Congress/JVM-P alliance coming to power,Prakash said Congress believed in the right of MLAs to choose their leader before referring it to the high command.

There was no discussion on the chief ministerial candidate when Congress stitched an alliance with Marandi’s JVM-P keeping the decision after-polls.
