BJP directs MLAs, ministers to spend two days weekly in Chandigarh for public affairs
They should spend five days in the field and dedicate the remaining two days in Chandigarh to coordinate public matters with officials, says Haryana BJP president Mohan Lal Badoli

The ruling BJP in Haryana has directed its ministers and MLAs to stay in Chandigarh for two days—Tuesday and Wednesday—every week to coordinate with officers in the state capital on public matters.
Haryana BJP president Mohan Lal Badoli, told The Indian Express: “They should spend five days in the field and the remaining two in Chandigarh to address public concerns with officials.”
Additionally, Badoli emphasized direct public engagement, stating that once every 15 days, ministers and MLAs must be present at the party district headquarters in their respective constituencies, allowing people to meet them and raise grievances. He instructed ministers to announce their schedules for district headquarters in advance to ensure convenience for the public.
The state BJP leadership plans to introduce annual report cards evaluating ministers on governance performance and public outreach, with these assessments handed over to the Chief Minister. Furthermore, each minister must oversee at least one pilot project within their department.
On party affairs, Badoli reaffirmed that the BJP’s organizational festival is ongoing, with elections for the national and state presidents yet to be conducted. While new joinings were temporarily paused, some individuals are eager to join the BJP from a work perspective. He clarified that new members must dedicate two years of service without aspiring for a position of benefit.
Meanwhile, Haryana Public Health Engineering and Public Works Minister Ranbir Gangwa highlighted the BJP’s performance-driven leadership approach, remarking, “The BJP is different—it monitors its leaders’ functioning and promotes only based on performance, rather than family background.” Gangwa, formerly with the Indian National Lok Dal for 19 years, represented the party in the Assembly and Rajya Sabha before joining the BJP in 2019.
Looking ahead, Haryana BJP media co-coordinator Sanjay Ahuja said that after the national party president elections in June, the BJP will make key appointments for its Haryana organization, along with board and corporation chairpersons, prioritizing dedicated party workers for these positions.
