BJP will win confidence motion: Naidu

Venkaiah Naidu is confident Karnataka govt will sail through the confidence motion on October 11.

BJP leader Venkaiah Naidu,who arrived here to defuse the political crisis gripping the party,on Thursday said he was confident the government will sail through the confidence motion on October 11.

“We are confident of proving our majority,” he told reporters here,a day after 18 MLAs withdrew support to the B S Yeddyurappa government reducing it to a minority.

He said he was confident that the crisis would be defused and the dissidents would return to the party fold.

Naidu said that the grievances of

the rebel MLAs are being looked into and the party was directly talking to the dissidents to resolve the issue.

He also reminded those MLAs who had directly submitted a letter to Governor H R Bhardwaj that the party could invoke anti-defection laws against them.

He said the BJP was also chalking out a strategy to keep JDS and the Congress from poaching his party’s MLAs.
