Buddhadeb warns Maoists about entering new areas

Buddhadeb said that Trinamool had helped form the Maoist backed People's Committee Against Police Atrocities.

West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee on Saturday warned the Maoists attempting to infiltrate fresh areas from West Midnapore district and asserted that his government would defeat them.

“The Maoists are trying to infiltrate into other districts. We have to be on alert. Shall we allow them to enter Nadia district?” the chief minister asked at a public meeting here.

Alleging that the Maoists and the Trinamool Congress were hand-in-glove,Bhattacharjee said that it was the opposition party which had helped to form the Maoist-backed People’s Committee Against Police Atrocities.

“Trinamool’s policy is to support anyone to defeat the CPI(M). They are joining hands with Maoists who are killing our partymen. 150 CPI (M) workers killed by them,” Bhattacharjee said.

He also accused the Trinamool of also joining hands with the separatist Gorkha Janmukti Morcha in the Darjeeling hills.

On Trinamool supremo Mamata Banerjee’s demand for withdrawal of joint forces from West Midnapore district,he said “why has she so much sympathy for them (Maoists)?”

Making it clear that the operations against the Maoists by the joint forces would not be halted,he said the Maoists had to be driven beyond the borders of Jharkhand and Orissa.
