Congress activist alleged to have beaten by Maharashtra minister of state for civil supplies at a meeting.

Congress activist alleged to have beaten by Maharashtra minister of state for civil supplies at a meeting here,on Wednesday denied that he was assaulted by the minister.

The activist,identified as Mohammed Mushtaq,told police that he fell down during the scuffle and was not manhandled by Abdul Sattar.

On Sunday Abdul Sattar had reportedly beaten Mushtaq following a heated exchange of words between them in a meeting held to discuss seat sharing issue in ensuing Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) here.

The issue was raised in the ongoing state assembly as well,with Opposition demanding an apology from Abdul Sattar for his misconduct.

Abdul Sattar had told the assembly that he attacked the man for self defense,as Mushtaq and his men attacked him during the meeting.

However,no police has been lodged from either side for last two days.
