Cross-voting of BJP legislators best known to the party: Omar

Omar said that some cross voting by BJP Legislators has been observed for the reason best known to the "party".

Batting strongly for open voting in Legislative Council elections to do away with doubts of horse-trading,Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Saturday said that some cross voting by BJP Legislators has been observed for the reason best known to the “party”.

“During the recently held elections to six seats of Member Legislative Councils (MLCs),some cross voting by BJP Legislators has been observed for the reason best known to the party”,Omar said at a function in the state Legislative Complex here on Saturday.

“This has created some doubts among the people and questions about horse-trading are raised,” he said adding “to do away with all such misgivings the ballot system for the election of MLCs should be open and at par with Rajya Sabha”.

Best Legislator Award for 2010 was given to Ajay Sadhotra,Abdul Gani Vakil and Syed Mohammad Rafiq,who received cash prizes and a shawl each from the Chief Minister.
