Five Trinamool workers injured by CPM cadres

Three Trinamool workers were inujured when a TC procession was attacked with bombs and sharp weapons.

Five Trinamool Congress activists were on Saturday beaten up allegedly by CPI(M) cadres in separate incidents in poll-bound West Bengal today.

While two Trinamool workers were beaten up at Nadal under trouble-torn Raina police station in Burdwan district,three others at Krishnapur in Maoist-hit West Midnapore district,police said.

In Burdwan incident,Nikhil Ghosh and Haripad Ghosh were attacked when they along with others were campaigning for local TC candidate. Both were hospitalised.

Three Trinamool workers were inujured when a TC procession was attacked with bombs and sharp weapons allegedly by CPI(M) cadres in West Midnapore district. Three seriously injured persons were admitted to hospital.

Twelve persons were arrested in connection with the incident.

In another incident at Satengabari under Nandigram block (II) in East Midnapore district,eight persons were arrested after a clash between supporters of Trinamool Congress and those of CPI(M).
