Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi on Monday attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his recent Bangladesh visit and claimed that the PM did not raise the issues of infiltration, smuggling and illegal trade along the Indo-Bangladesh border while he was in Dhaka.

“During his Lok Sabha campaign last year, Modi had made promises on these issues and the people of Assam had supported him by electing seven

BJP MPs from the state. But the PM did not mention any of these issues even once during his Bangladesh visit.

This proves that he is not at all serious in dealing with these problems,” he said.
