Mamata wants CMO on lines of PMO

"Development and negotiations is our top priority and I need to have CMO in line with the PMO at the Centre," Banerjee said.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today said a Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) would be set up here on the lines of the PMO in Delhi.

“Development and negotiations is our top priority and I need to have CMO in line with the PMO at the Centre,” Banerjee said.

“There is no basic infrastructure for good governance. My priority is to set up infrastructure for good governance and to speed up development work for the benefit of the people,” she told her maiden press conference.

Accusing the Left Front government of not doing much to improve infrastructure,she said “I find a helpless situation in the absense of adequate infrastructure.”

Banerjee also said she was committed to expediting development work in North Bengal for which she would soon set up a small secretariat.
