Mayawati’s BSP most searched regional party on Google

Search trends on Google revealed the maximum number of searches on BSP originated from Chhattisgarh.

The Congress and the BJP are jostling for online presence as the campaign for the General Elections is heating up. But Mayawati’s BSP seems to have generated more curiosity for the voters. Search trends on Google showed how some of the regional political parties are stacking up in terms of visibility online and driving search trends.

Interestingly, the Bahujan Samaj Party led by former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati is the most searched regional party on the Internet.

Search trends of internet giant Google revealed that the maximum number of searches on the BSP originated from Chhattisgarh followed by Madhya Pradesh, while Uttar Pradesh was at number three when it came to search popularity of the party.

Search data analysis sourced from Google trends between December 12, 2013 and March 10, 2014, reveal that Mayawati’s party was the top searched regional party on the internet followed by the DMK and then Shiv Sena. The search popularity numbers of BSP were 27, six more than DMK on Google trends.

Jayalalithaa’s AIADMK and Mulayam Singh’s Samajwadi Party were among the top five searched regional parties. Other most searched parties included – the Trinamool Congress, the Communist Party of India, the Akali Dal followed by the Janta Dal and finally Jammu and Kashmir’s National Congress.
