Varied political connections seem to be the flavour of the season in the run up to the 2014 General Elections. Days after flaunting his political connections with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, Bollywood actor Salman Khan on Tuesday visited Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi for lunch.
Addressing mediapersons after the luncheon meet, Salman said each state in the country needs a chief minister as loved as Narendra Modi.
Around an hour before the actor visited the Gujarat Chief Minister, an annoucement was made by Modi himself on his Twitter account, saying Salman was his guest on the occasion of Uttarayan.

This announcement was followed by a picture of the political heavyweight and the superstar, wherein both seemed in a cheerful mood.

And if this was not all, Modi went on to post another tweet about him sharing Gujarati delicacy Undhiyu with Salman.
Having Undhiyu for lunch with Salman Khan. Undhiyu is a Gujarati delicacy and is a must-have during Uttarayan!

Interestingly, this comes close on the heels of Salman performing at the Saifai Mahotsav organised by the Akhilesh Yadav government in Uttar Pradesh. The Bollywood extravaganza had sparked a major controversy as the grand event was organised by the state government even as victims of Muzaffarnagar riots suffered at relief camps.
And this time, the actor is seen on the other side of the political spectrum, with BJP strongman Narendra Modi. This certainly suggests a varied range of political connections enjoyed by the actor.
