Modi, Rajnath call Jaya

India’s PM-designate Narendra Modi has expressed his desire to “deepen and develop” ties with Israel.

Chennai: After trading spiking barbs during the Lok Sabha polls, it is time for bonhomie for AIADMK and BJP. Top BJP leaders, including PM designate Narendra Modi, greeted Tamil Nadu CM J Jayalalithaa for her emphatic victory, which the AIADMK supremo reciprocated congratulating the saffron party leaders. “Modi and BJP president Rajnath Singh spoke to Jayalalithaa over phone and the leaders greeted each others for the respective parties’ victories,” an official statement said.

 

Bangladesh PM invites Modi

New Delhi: Bangladesh premier Sheikh Hasina has telephoned Prime Minister-designate Narendra Modi congratulating him on his resounding victory and wished that relations between the two countries will grow under his leadership. She also invited Modi to visit Bangladesh. On the day results were out on May 16, the Bangladesh premier had reached out to the BJP’s PM-designate in a warm letter saying with the kind of people’s mandate given to their respective parties they can work together to take the bilateral relationship to “increasingly greater heights”.

Modi keen on ties with Israel: Netanyahu

Jerusalem: India’s PM-designate Narendra Modi has expressed his desire to “deepen and develop” ties with Israel, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Sunday. “On Friday, I spoke with the PM-elect of India. There too there is a clear expression of the desire to deepen and develop economic ties ,” he told his Cabinet Sunday.
