NCP supremo Sharad Pawar, whose plans to address a BJD-Left Rally in Bhubaneswar last week did not fructify in the backdrop of a political controversy,is visiting Orissa for campaigning on Wednesday.

Pawar will be reaching Bhubaneshwar on Tuesday night and would be campaigning next day jointly with Chief Minister and BJD chief Naveen Patnaik,NCP spokesman D P Tripathi said.

After fuelling intense speculation over his future plans last week,Pawar had skipped a BJD-Left rally in Bhubaneswar, which he was due to attend, after senior UPA partner Congress voiced reservations over him sharing a platform with Third Front leaders.

NCP has an alliance with BJD in Orissa.

Pawar had told the rally through a cellphone that a “technical fault” in his aircraft at Nashik in Maharashtra prevented him from attending the meet which had generated a lot of hype following his planned participation.
