Raje son embarrasses MoS on House floor

Dushyant said there was 'a dichotomy between what the figures are showing and what the minister has stated.'

BJP MP Dushyant Singh, son of Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, caused an embarrassment to Minister of State for Transport Pon Radhakrishnan in the Lok Sabha Thursday by saying the minister did not “know about his subject”.

Dushyant made this remark while the minister was responding to a supplementary put by him during Question Hour. The question pertained to road projects under the PPP model.

“Madam, I am saddened by the fact that the Hon. Minister does not know about his subject,” the MP from Jhalawar-Baran constituency said. He added: “His bureaucrats have given him papers on that…..” Dushyant said he wished to know “whether the statement in the press reflects the view of the government of making 30 kilometres of roads.”

“If they are making these roads then what are the key policy changes of the government?….I would like to know whether they will help people in future to be a part of this road construction under PPP model and fulfil the promise to make 30 kilometres of road per day in future..”

Dushyant said there was “a dichotomy between what the figures are showing and what the minister has stated.” As he made these remarks, many members, including those from BJP, were seen grinning.
