Stalin’s elder brother and Union Minister M K Alagiri had met Arumugam,DMK’s strongman in Salem region, soon after he was grilled by police during the three-day custodial interrogation before his arrest last month.

Describing the land grabbing cases as pre-planned and politically motivated to silence the leaders,he said DMK would face all the cases legally and come out clean.

He alleged police were not entertaining similar complaints against AIADMK ministers and leaders and instead were trying to convince the complainants against registering their complaints.

Several DMK leaders and functionaries have been arrested across the state in the past couple of months after the AIADMK government launched a crackdown on land grabbing by setting up special police cells to deal with the cases.
