PUNJAB Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal dismissed suggestions of anti-incumbency against the SAD-BJP government as propaganda spread by rivals, during voting day in the state on Wednesday. “There is no anti-incumbency against the state government but rather it is against the UPA government. Even last time (Assembly elections), there was talk of anti-incumbency against the state government and look, we created history. This time too, history will be created,” he said.

“It is a Modi-Badal combination that is working well in Punjab. The anti-incumbency propaganda has been created by the rivals as they did last time and you all have seen the results. The Congress is struggling to survive while the Aam Admi Party( AAP) will just come and go not only from Punjab, but the entire country,” he added.

On his estranged cousin Congress-PPP-CPI candidate from Bathinda, Manpreet Badal, Sukhbir said: “When a person is going to lose, he always complains of booth capturing, code of conduct violations and much more. So it is sheer frustration. Let the Election Commission verify his complaints.”

Reacting to Manpreet’s allegations on drugs, sand mafia, unemployment and illiteracy, Sukhbir said: “Manpreet liked everything when he was part of the government and now all of a sudden he is upset. Drugs are coming from Pakistan and we are already working on it”.

The deputy chief minister also predicted a victory by record margins at Bathinda where is wife, sitting MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal, is the SAD-BJP candidate. “We will win in Amritsar as well. I am optimistic enough. Why keep on making rough calculations now, let the results come out on May 16. All speculation will be put to rest,” he said.

Harsimrat also slammed Manpreet. “Manpreet has no base at the Centre and his ally, the Congress, is already on its death bed, so how can he provide facilities to the masses. I am here for more development. I have already worked 100 times harder and will double it now”.
