UDF decision to give 13 seats dishonourable: KC (M)

‘Kerala Congress had asked for 22 seats,discussions on seat sharing will continue.’

Kerala Congress (M) Chairman K M Mani said on Friday the party will not accept directions from the United Democratic Front on the issue of seat sharing for the coming Assembly elections.

The UDF leadership has agreed to give 13 seats which is unacceptable and dishonourable to the party,Mani told reporters after the steering committee meeting of the party here.

He said the strength of the party and number of MLAs had increased after the 2006 elections. The contribution to UDF from the united Kerala Congress was immense for the past three decades and the party has to get its due share,Mani said.

A resolution authorising Mani to take a proper decision on seat sharing was passed at the meeting.

He said the party had asked for 22 seats and the discussion for seat sharing will continue in the coming days.
