Stating that the government should take a leaf out of French President Nicholas Sarkozy’s policies,Shiv Sena mouth piece ‘Samaana’ has congratulated him on the recent ban on veil in his country.

“Like Sarkozy,our rulers should first impose a ban on veil and introduce common civil code,” the editorial said.

It said “women reservation can wait,first try and take the veil off.”

The editorial also hailed Sarkozy,calling him “a robust man,who does not compromise on national interest.”

“We specially congratulate him…He issued a fiat and banned veil in public places overnight. To force women to wear veil is to limit their freedom,” it said.

The editorial also mentioned Sarkozy’s openness toward women.

Referring to Fiza-Chand affair and “similar affairs in Maharashtra”,it attacked the Indian politicians saying,”What Sarkozy does overtly,our politicians do covertly.”

“Sarkozy had an affair with a beautiful model called Carla Bruni. He walks in public with her … and his countrymen accept it happily,” it said.

Politicians here ape Sarkozy when it comes to romantic affairs,but do not accept his strict governance policies,it said.
