Started in 1967 by quizzing legend Neil O’Brien, the “second oldest quiz in the country” will be taking place at Kolkata’s Dalhousie Institute on May 18, starting from 4:30pm. Teams of four will not only be battling for the prestigious Errol Cowper Trophy, but pieces of actual quizzing history—think the question diary of Neil O’Brien, and other rare memorabilia. Even if you don’t quiz, the audience attending will also be given a shot at this historic ‘merch’!

The Karnataka Quizzing Association is hosting their national quiz championships on May 19 across multiple cities. ‘Mindsweep’ is a written (printed) international solo quiz of 200 questions, whereas ‘Megawhats’ is a national team quizzing championship with a live audio-visual deck. Billed as the ‘happiest quiz ever’, Hei Suomi (meaning ‘Hello’ in Finnish) is India’s first-ever quiz on Finland for school students in classes 9 to 12. Hosted by the Embassy of Finland in New Delhi along with Quizcraft Global, the quiz is slated for August 13 at Instituto Cervantes, Delhi with a grand prize of Rs 30,000. Participation is in teams of two.

Literature aficionados will be tested on their knowledge of iconic lines from books in this quiz hosted by the Readers and Writers Club of IIM Rohtak. From classic fantasy to literary fiction, the quiz will cover different genres of literature and will have individual participation. The quiz happens online on May 17.
