Neil O’Brien DI Open Quiz

Started in 1967 by quizzing legend Neil O’Brien, the “second oldest quiz in the country” will be taking place at Kolkata’s Dalhousie Institute on May 18, starting from 4:30pm. Teams of four will not only be battling for the prestigious Errol Cowper Trophy, but pieces of actual quizzing history—think the question diary of Neil O’Brien, and other rare memorabilia. Even if you don’t quiz, the audience attending will also be given a shot at this historic ‘merch’!

‘Mindsweep’ & ‘Megawhats’ Championships

The Karnataka Quizzing Association is hosting their national quiz championships on May 19 across multiple cities. ‘Mindsweep’ is a written (printed) international solo quiz of 200 questions, whereas ‘Megawhats’ is a national team quizzing championship with a live audio-visual deck. Hei Suomi Quiz on Finland

Billed as the ‘happiest quiz ever’, Hei Suomi (meaning ‘Hello’ in Finnish) is India’s first-ever quiz on Finland for school students in classes 9 to 12. Hosted by the Embassy of Finland in New Delhi along with Quizcraft Global, the quiz is slated for August 13 at Instituto Cervantes, Delhi with a grand prize of Rs 30,000. Participation is in teams of two.

Literalogues Quiz by IIM Rohtak

Literature aficionados will be tested on their knowledge of iconic lines from books in this quiz hosted by the Readers and Writers Club of IIM Rohtak. From classic fantasy to literary fiction, the quiz will cover different genres of literature and will have individual participation. The quiz happens online on May 17.

Endangered Species Day Quiz

Chennai-based e-quiz forum X Quiz It, in collaboration with Madras Crocodile Trust, is hosting ‘On the Brink’, an online solo quiz themed on Endangered Species Day (May 17) to raise awareness about the fading biodiversity of Earth. The quiz is open to wildlife enthusiasts of all ages, with practice questions on X Quiz It’s Instagram handle. Winners will receive goody bags!

KaliIO Tech Quiz Challenge

A mental challenge on all things programming, technology, AI, and machine learning, this online quiz on May 17 is being organised by Mumbai-based web and app development agency Kali IO Solutions. Participation is solo—for college students only—with 20 minutes to complete 20 questions. Time is money here, so you may want some speedy trivia practice!

LitQuest English Quiz

The Department of English at St. Francis College, Bengaluru is hosting an English literature-themed quiz for college students as part of their national inter-collegiate fest ‘Carnivalesque 2024’. The quiz falls on May 23, and you can tag along with a college mate or give it a run on your own.
