Ajinkya Rahane to lead Rest of India vs Vidarbha in Irani Trophy

KL Rahul will captain the India A team for the second four-day game to be played against England Lions in Mysore from 13th February.

The All-India Senior Selection Committee has picked the Rest of India squad for the Irani Cup to be played against Vidarbha, winners of the Ranji Trophy 2018-19 in Nagpur from February 12-16. India Test vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane will lead the Rest of India side against Vidarbha. A day later, KL Rahul will lead India A in the second unofficial Test against the England Lions at Mysore.

The Rest of India side also features a few other current India players in the mix including Mayank Agarwal, Hanuma Vihari, Shreyas Iyer along with others like wicketkeeper Ishan Kishan and Krishnappa Gowtham.

Saurashtra keeper-batsman Snell Patel, who scored a hundred in the Ranji final and left-arm spinner Dharmendra Jadeja, with fifty-plus wickets, have also made the cut.

Wrist spinners Rahul Chahar and Mayank Markande are is in the Rest squad and A squad respectively.

Ankit Rajpoot, Ronit More, Sandeep Warrier, and left-armer Tanveer ul Haq will lead the pace attack.
