On Tuesday, Adobe announced an update to its Acrobat AI Assistant, introducing new generative AI capabilities designed to simplify working with contracts. These enhancements include the ability to help customers understand complex terms and quickly spot differences between multiple agreements.

These features will be available to both free Reader and paid Acrobat users as an add-on for an additional cost of US$4.99 per month. The new Acrobat AI Assistant can be accessed on desktop, web, and mobile in worldwide English.

“We are introducing new capabilities to deliver contract intelligence in Adobe AI Assistant, making it easier for customers to understand and compare these complex documents while providing citations to help them verify responses—all while keeping their data safe,” said Abhigyan Modi, senior vice president of Adobe Document Cloud.

The highlights of the Acrobat AI Assistant include contract intelligence, straightforward explanations, comparison and contrast features, and secure sharing and signing capabilities.

The updated Acrobat AI Assistant can now help users understand complex documents such as credit card vendor agreements, loyalty programs, and purchase orders. With contract intelligence capabilities, business owners can easily identify key details such as dates, deliverables, and hidden fees.

These new capabilities are backed by robust data security protocols. Adobe specifies that it will never use customer data to train the company’s generative AI models and also prohibits third-party LLMs from training on Adobe customer data.
