While most of us are keeping a lookout for the latest ChatGPT features, Google has been consistently updating Bard with new features and deeper integrations. Earlier this year, the tech giant introduced a new YouTube extension for Bard that lets the AI chatbot analyze and suggest videos based on user queries. Now, the latest update to Bard enables the YouTube extension to understand YouTube and even answer complex queries like 'how many eggs the recipe in the first video requires' when looking for videos on how to make an olive oil cake. Google says the feature was added after Bard users hinted that they wanted the YouTube extension to do more. The new feature can come in handy if you want to get specific information from YouTube videos like key points or recipe information without watching them. While this may be good for YouTube users, it may spell trouble for content creators since it can generate summaries and answer complex queries without having to watch the video. If you want to try Google Bard's YouTube extension, head over to the chatbot in your browser and click on the extension button that appears on the top right of the screen. On the screen that appears, turn on the YouTube extension and you are good to go. We tried asking the generative AI chatbot about how many eggs a recipe for vanilla cake requires, and the answer is pretty accurate. However, if you plan to use the feature to get answers about sensitive topics like the ongoing Israel-Hamas war, Google recommends switching to search to get the latest information on the subject.
