Google has been incorporating Gemini AI across its verticals. The company has now rolled out a Gemini-powered Q&A feature to Gmail users on iPhone, which makes finding and managing emails much easier. However, this feature is limited to Google Workspace customers with Gemini business, enterprise, education, and education premium subscriptions and is also available for users with Google One AI Premium subscriptions. It is also only available in English.
You can also ask it to summarise emails about a specific topic and search the web for an answer to a specific query related to an email.
Log in using your Google Workspace account and update the Gmail app to the latest available version. For enterprise users, the same feature has to be enabled by the IT admin by turning on the default personalisation setting. In its official blog, Google states the feature is currently rolling out and might take up to 15 days to reach all users. Once enabled, users can access it across their devices.
If your account has access to Gmail Q&A, powered by Gemini, you should see the Gemini logo at the top right corner on both Android and iOS devices. Clicking on it will open a Q&A window, which allows users to ask questions related to the emails in their inbox, including the option to draft a new email. Gmail users on the web can also access this feature from the side panel.
