It is the age of Artificial Intelligence, and tech giants are leaving no stone unturned to offer the most cutting-edge technology in AI. Google on Thursday unveiled a slew of enhancements to its conversational AI chatbot, Google Bard. The company has made Bard available in 40 more languages including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Gujarati, Malayalam, Bengali, Kannada, Urdu, etc. Apart from adding more languages, Google has also made Bard available in more regions including Brazil and across Europe.

Launched in March this year, Google’s Bard was introduced as a public experiment in the UK and the US. While coding for the chatbot was introduced in April, during the Google I/O event, it was announced that Bard had transitioned to PaLM 2, included image searches, and expanded its availability to 180 countries. The waitlist was also removed during this time. Ever since its launch, Google has been making several improvements to Bard.

What’s new with Google Bard?

The latest features offer a range of customisation to users with the ability to get accurate information based on their unique queries.

Listen to responses: With this feature, now users will be able to listen to Bard’s responses. According to Google, this can be helpful if a user wants to hear the correct pronunciation of a word or listen to a poem or script. To use this feature, simply enter the prompt, and tap on the sound icon to hear Bard’s answers. Moreover, this feature is now available in over 40 languages.

Easily adjust Bard’s responses: This feature allows users to change the tone and style of Bard’s responses in five options – simple, long, short, professional, or casual. You can ask the chatbot to help you write a marketplace listing for a vintage armchair. Once Bard provides the response, users can now shorten or adjust it using the drop-down. Presently the feature is available in English, however, Google has plans to expand this to new languages soon.

Pin and rename conversations: This feature can be of great help if a user decides to revisit his older prompts. Google has introduced new ways to pin and rename your conversations with Bard. Now if a user begins a conversation then they will be able to see options to pin, rename, and pick up recent conversations in the sidebar. This feature is now available in over 40 languages.

Use images in your prompts: As disclosed during the Google I/O event, Bard will now harness the power of Google Lens. While the chatbot already shows images in its responses, from today onwards users will be able to include images in their prompts and Lens will help Bard to generate responses. Bard will also be able to give you information about images. The feature is now available in English and will be expanded to new languages soon.
