Google recently added two new capabilities to Gemini, allowing users to share their screen or real-time video with Gemini and ask questions about what’s being shown. Initially available to select Pixel, Samsung, and Gemini Advanced users, these features are now being extended to all eligible Android smartphone users. Gemini is Google’s next-generation AI assistant, which replaces Google Assistant across Android devices. It's powered by Google's most advanced language models and offers multimodal AI capabilities, meaning it can understand and respond to inputs across text, voice, image, and video. This new feature enables users to feed Gemini AI in real-time by sharing their camera feed or smartphone screen. Additionally, the Gemini Advanced subscription — which costs $20 a month — is now available for free to college students in the United States. This subscription provides access to Google's latest language models and includes 2 TB of cloud storage. The new Gemini capabilities are also available for iPhone users; however, a Gemini Advanced subscription is required to access them. The updated Gemini, with multimodal abilities, can accept text, voice, photo, and video inputs and generate real-time responses. It can help with simple tasks, like diagnosing a noisy bike chain or troubleshooting technical issues on devices such as smartphones, tablets, or laptops.
