At the Galaxy Unpacked 2025 event, Samsung unveiled the upgraded version of Google’s Gemini, an AI assistant, debuting with the Galaxy S25 series. The improved app introduces Gemini Live, which allows users to add images, files, and YouTube videos to conversations, providing additional context. Google has also confirmed that Gemini will soon gain Project Astra capabilities, including support for screen sharing and live video streaming. This will launch first on the Galaxy S25 series of smartphones.
Gemini now also supports more extensions, enabling it to interact with various apps and services such as YouTube, Google Maps, Gmail, and Spotify. On Samsung phones, Gemini can also integrate with Samsung Calendar, Notes, Reminder, and Clock apps.

Samsung has made accessing Gemini more convenient, allowing users to invoke the app by long-pressing the side button.
With this update, users can ask Gemini to use multiple extensions simultaneously through a simple text prompt. The output from the Gemini app can also be directly saved into Samsung Notes or Google Keep.
Users with a Gemini Advanced subscription will gain access to Deep Research capabilities directly within the mobile app.
These features will also roll out to the Galaxy S24 series and the Pixel 9 series of smartphones via a software update and will expand to other eligible devices in the coming weeks.
