Similarly, Microsoft has also joined the board of OpenAI, however, it will take a non-voting, observer position. "I have never been more excited about the future. I am extremely grateful for everyone’s hard work in an unclear and unprecedented situation, and I believe our resilience and spirit set us apart in the industry. I feel so, so good about our probability of success in achieving our mission." Sam Altman writes in a blog. We clearly made the right choice to partner with Microsoft and I’m excited that our new board will include them as a non-voting observer, he adds. Sam Altman says "I love and respect Ilya Sutskever and I harbor zero ill will towards him," who was also ousted from OpenAI. And confirms that "Ilya will no longer serve on the board" and the company is currently discussing how he can continue his work at OpenAI. He also reiterated that several employees, who resigned from OpenAI have rejoined the company, which includes prominent names like Jakub, Szymon, and Aleksander. Altman also sheds some light on "Adam’s potential conflict of interest running Quora and Poe," and says "Quora is a large customer of OpenAI and we found it helpful to have customer representation on our Board." in a post on X. According to the blog, OpenAI currently has three immediate priorities, which include advancing research, continuing to improve and deploy products, and building a beneficial AGI. Bret Taylor, Chair, OpenAI says the company is "focused on strengthening OpenAI’s corporate governance." and the company will build a qualified, diverse Board of exceptional individuals "who represents the breadth of OpenAI’s mission."
