Apple is the leader in the smart watch market and it has shipped nearly 7 million smart watches since launch, says a report by research firm Canalys.

According to Canalys, Apple was the only smartwatch vendor to ship more than 300,000 units in the third quarter of 2015. In second place was Pebble as it shipped more than 200,000 smartwatches thanks to its new Pebble Time Steel.  Samsung was the big loser in the quarter as it saw Gear shipments decline. Canalys says that for now smartwatch vendors are still struggling for a position behind Apple.

The research firm notes that all eyes will be on the Apple Watch in Q4, which is a crucial holiday quarter.

“After experiencing significant supply chain constraints early on, Apple managed to overcome its production struggles with the Apple Watch and is building momentum going into Q4”, said analyst Daniel Matte.
