The report further highlights that the functionality of the PSVR2 controller paired with a Vision Pro won’t just be limited to gaming. Users will also be able to use the precise input from the controller to access services like Final Cut Pro, Adobe Photoshop, and other apps that need precise input. Currently, Vision Pro supports gesture controls, where users can wave their hands in the air, which will be captured by various sensors and cameras packed inside the headset, eliminating the need for an external controller.

Although one can currently pair most Bluetooth controllers with the Vision Pro and use them for navigation, the PSVR2 controller will have much tighter integration, where it could gain special functionalities. It will also help Apple pitch the Vision Pro as a high-fidelity mixed-reality gaming headset.

For now, it is not clear how much the standalone PSVR2 controller will cost, but this addition could be a big boost to the gaming experience on the Apple Vision Pro.
