*With the gaming industry now turning its attention to mobile devices, 2024 has been a spectacular year for mobile gamers. From action-packed shooting games to adrenaline-inducing racing games, this year's mobile games have set new benchmarks. From Assassin's Creed Mirage to Call of Duty Warzone, here are some of the best mobile games you can play in 2024. Assassin's Creed Mirage Available for the iPhone 15 Pro series, iPad Air and iPad Pro with M1 or newer chip, Assassin's Creed Mirage is the latest instalment in Ubisoft's critically acclaimed multi-million dollar franchise. On launch, the game was praised by critics and players for its stunning visuals, mostly on par with the PC version, but the game was criticised for its low-resolution textures. Another thing to note is that the game isn't free to play, but you can download the trial version that lets you check the open-world title for the first 90 minutes. Zenless Zone Zero There are a tonne of shooting games available on mobile devices, but lately, there has been a dearth of open-world action RPG titles. Zenless Zone Zero, a new 3D action game from the developers of Genshim Impact tries to fill in the void with its state-of-the-art visuals and satisfying combat. If you are looking for a mobile game that immediately gets going, is constantly chaotic and offers hi-fi cyberpunk-like action, Zenless Zone Zero is one of the best free mobile games you can play right now. GRID Legends Racing simulators that offer a realistic driving experience are pretty common on consoles and PCs, but not so much on Android and iOS. However, all that changed when Codemasters, the EA-owned gaming studio that brought us the likes of DiRT and F1 launched GRID Legends for Android and iOS. Termed as the successor to GRID Autosport successor, GRID Legends has some of the best graphics of a mobile racing game and comes with numerous cars which may make you feel like you are driving a real one. While it does look and feel excellent, the game requires a high-end smartphone with the developer saying it has blocked installation on devices that are not capable of running the game. Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile Call of Duty: Warzone isn't the first mobile game in the multi-billion dollar franchise, but it did set the standard for how mobile games should be in 2024. Like most battle royale titles, Warzone brings a tonne of guns and unique gameplay elements that make it feel like you are playing a PC game, but many have complained that the graphics are a little bit blurry and grainy at times. But despite its downfalls, Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile remains one of the best mobile titles of the year. Honkai: Star Rail Made by HoYoverse, Honkai: Star Rail is an open-world game where players hop aboard the Astral Express, allowing them to explore the wonders of the universe. While the game is made by the same studio that brought us Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail features turn-based combat that forces players to use a combination of strategy and techniques to defeat their enemies. If you like turn-based 3DN combat games and are looking for a visually stunning free-to-play gacha game, Honkai: Star Rail is undoubtedly the best mobile game you can play right now. Honourable mention: Fall Guys Fall Guys isn't new per se, but happens to be one of the most fun mobile games of all time. Previously limited to PC and consoles, the Epic Games-owned title is now available on mobile devices. Unlike other games on the list, Fall Guys is a casual multiplayer title that you can enjoy solo as well as with friends. And while the graphics are not that great, the gameplay is what makes it one of the best games of the year.
